Many birds serenaded us from the marsh on this gorgeous spring day. One, that fooled me into thinking it was a lone bullfrog, turned out to be a rare American Bittern. What a treat. The light changed continuously throughout the day, as round clouds rolled by against the distant coast range mountains.

Sometimes I like to add a little of the local soil to my paint to anchor the painting in the place.

About the Artist, Tara lives in Eugene, Oregon, USA, where she is surrounded and inspired by an abundance of natural beauty. Her interest in art began at a young age. She studied Fine Arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and had an early career as a designer and maker of art jewelry. For the past 20 years, she has been working as a graphic designer, painter, and illustrator. Tara Kemp is a creature of the Northwest. Through her paintings she reflects on her extraordinary life in Oregon, the people and places she encounters. She is a values painter.
