Artist's Description
This lovely bunch of dark red apples was hanging next to a small shed in Roseburg, Oregon on a September day. I had noticed them a few days earlier and hoped I'd have time to capture them. They picked up a subtile gleam from the indirect light and interesting turns of the leaves that captured the light or turned into shadow. Much to my delight, I finally got to capture them in oil on canvas.

About the Artist, Tara lives in Eugene, Oregon, USA, where she is surrounded and inspired by an abundance of natural beauty. Her interest in art began at a young age. She studied Fine Arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and had an early career as a designer and maker of art jewelry. For the past 20 years, she has been working as a graphic designer, painter, and illustrator. Tara Kemp is a creature of the Northwest. Through her paintings she reflects on her extraordinary life in Oregon, the people and places she encounters. She is a values painter.
