I was strolling through our local (Eugene, Oregon) farmer's market one day with my camera, people watching and capturing the colorful assortment of veggies. I came upon our regular flower vendor. She and her family of women are longtime sellers of flowers they have grown on their farm. She had just assembled this beautiful bouquet when I asked to take her photograph. I then painted this colorful oil painting back in my studio.
About the Artist, Tara lives in Eugene, Oregon, USA, where she is surrounded and inspired by an abundance of natural beauty. Her interest in art began at a young age. She studied Fine Arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and had an early career as a designer and maker of art jewelry. For the past 20 years, she has been working as a graphic designer, painter, and illustrator. Tara Kemp is a creature of the Northwest. Through her paintings she reflects on her extraordinary life in Oregon, the people and places she encounters. She is a values painter.
